mono?

ok, i am very new at this, so this is a very dumb question im sure, but whenever i record an external source into live, it is a mono signal instead of a stereo signal. why is this and how can i change it to stereo? thanks

what input device are you using?
by mono do you mean it's only recording into the left or right channel in live? if so click on the bus icon at the bottom of the screen and unlink your input, then when you record select only the channel sound it coming in on.

i am using an m-audio firewire 410 interface, and i have an acoustic guitar plugged into one of the inputs. I am only using live 1.5 because thats what came with the interface. It is only recording into the left channel. i went to the bus icon and it doesnt look like theres much i can do there. could it have to do with my light version of live?

in the input bus area click the button that says "unlink"
then when you set the input you are recording from select the left channel
