Midinote feedback?

Post by jrsavage » Wed May 23, 2007 6:52 pm

just been testing my new controller (midibox64), and have got some of the buttons in live mapped and working with my leds....but not all buttons/controls send out midi feedback?

can someone explain this reason to me?....or a way round it?

example.

mute button turns led on/off, but solo does not.
play and stop turn led on/off, but loop on/off does not.

has anyone got a list of controls that dont send midi feedback, would be very helpful.

cheers

From looking at the mackie emulation on my BCF, I'd have to say that the solo buttons definitely DO send feedback.

Loop also does send feedback to the LED

I'd almost think it would be worth the $$ to get a bcf so that you could use it with MIDI ox to investigate the messages and help to program your MIDIbox64. You could sell it after you're done

BTW congrats on building one, I'm jealous

What I know about clips MIDI feedback is: It outputs a 127 value when playing , and then a 126 when looping. Put the ceil at 126 on your midi box!

well managed to do a little workaround last nite.
by using a combination of creating my own custom midi map surface and also manualy mapping back over some functions that are in the custom map.
so have now got...

each channel (x 8 )
mute led working
record led working
play/stop leds working
loop on/off led working (but not the each track loop!)

fx channel leds working
main transport controls leds working.

but theres still more i need to be responding to midi feedback....maybe i should try using mackie emu as well?

i'll try an hav a look at the 126 option as well.

will continue on with this later.

cheers

(oh this is the controller i'm chattin bout)
