No Monolake in Detroit on Feb 7th?

Post by DJADD » Fri Jan 30, 2004 12:21 am

This sort of bums me out... I mean, it's great they got lots of cool acts lined up for the night, but I was hopin' to meet up with the Creator! (one of them, anyway)

so what happened, conflicting schedule?

I was hoping that I wouldn't hear anything medical was the issue, 'cause I don't wish any bad on anyone, so I hope he's OK, too.

Kooky Scientist, I do look forward to checking out your set!

I was just really hoping to get a chance to see Robert perform live.

tour canceled

Post by monolake. » Sat Jan 31, 2004 8:37 am

Hello.
I decided to cancel the tour because i got a serious ear infection.
It went worse over the last three weeks and after each gig
(L.A an San Francisco ) i had a more severe ringing, distortion and
hearling loss in my right ear. I was really scared.
Now i am taking some nice colored antibiotic pills three times a day
and it seems to get better, but the message from the doctor was clear: no noise, no stress, etc or there is a good chance of some irreversible damage.
It was a very difficult decission for me and made a few promoter pretty upset but i do not think continuing the tour under theses circumstances would have been a good thing to do. :-(

health first
..
you could ruin your eardrums.Usually ear infections are cause of stress and lowered immunity.
Take it easy and should get better, also do not fly mutch..Allot of internal liquid in the era canal and can acuse huge pressure..PAIN!!

Nice music//

I hope the antibiotics do their magic, and your hearing is fully restored! I just bought your new album a few weeks ago, so hopefully some of that money is going to your health coverage

Could you not employ a double to pretend that you were there. That way everyone would be happy and no-one be none the wiser. :)

Your health ALWAYS COMES FIRST Robert! As someone who has battled Ear problems all his life, I am in a position to know what you are going through! Do not fear! Your fans of your music and of Ableton LIVE will still be here when all is said and done! Rest up! Get better! Detroit Michigan will be waiting with open arms when you decide to roll through!

Hi Robert,

I was soooo looking forward to your show in TO as I missed Mutek in Chile, but obviously your health comes first.

Get well soon and we look forward to you resuming your tour when your fit and ready.

Ack! How did I miss seeing that this was coming? No matter - tickets will be secured shortly. Sorry about missing out Mono - but, I'm so glad that Kooky is coming out. I grew up with his music during his 'ol Psychic days!

BTW - I was at the show in San Francisco - it was quite spectacular. The EAW surround sound system there was mind blowing... I didn't get a chance to say hi, but keep up the good work and give those ears a rest!

MIDI controller used by Monolake?

Post by Guest » Wed Feb 04, 2004 8:37 pm

Did you get a chance to see Monolake on his last tour?

Did you notice the controller he was using?

Anyone have any idea what this beast is?

I seem to remember seeing a doepfer sticker on it somewhere, but it is definitely not one of their standard products. It is built like a tank, has this really cool industrial sized lighted buttons, lots of knobs and sliders - looked like a custom job... but I want one!

i will be filling in for the Live demo. I'm sure it wont be as insightful as Robert's but i do know my way around the program pretty well.

get well, Robert....
