Possible to change simpler presets with a clip?

Post by chymera » Tue Jun 05, 2007 11:59 pm

hey,

for a liveset I'm preparing I want to have the correct simpler preset load for each different clip I play, rather than having to manually change the preset before lauching the clip. I can do this for external synths by including the bank and program number and it automatically selects the correct patch on the external synth as soon as I launch the clip.

how do I do this for simpler? Its a pain in the bum having to load the presets manually..

cheers!

I don't think you can do that but you can load each preset into a separate simpler, put those into a rack and use the chain selector to switch between them.

From a design standpoint Simpler just loads files, there isn't a preset list, which might be why Live's preset switching feature doesn't work with its own plug-ins (which is odd.)

thanks, I'll have to see how the CPU handles the multiple simplers... cheers.

That's the strength of Live's built in instruments, they're *really* light on CPU load.
