I installed Live Lite to take care of some loop work for Logic last night, and found myself completely maxing out and taking full advantage of Live's capabilities. Someone should have shanked me a few times, because now I totally regret selling Live.

*hugs* brutha...sorry to hear it...but the lesson here is that next time you won't be so quick to get rid of something that you might want down the road.

so what are ya gonna do?

I reckon i'll pony up for the upgrade next week. I'll have 3 weeks for summer vacation, so I'll use that time making up for lost ground with the Logic. At least now I'll have both apps to enjoy.

student pricing for Live should be cheap too...try www.audiomidi.com

for what it's worth, I do every thing in Live, and I haven't needed any other DAW in about three years...

anyways, glad to have you back

I bought an academic live 5 back when it came out for $250 usd from academicsuperstore.com. student pricing is a life saver.

well, with student and oem pricing, you gotto watch out for the licenses...for example, an OEM version of windows is tied to the mobo...if you swap mobo, then the license is no longer good...whatever...

luckily with ableton, there is (as of verion 3, when I bought it) no distinction between the student license and the pro license. And you can upgrade to later versions, so it's a really good cost savings if you're a student.

I have sold a lot of equipment and software recently to pay my tuition bills but fortunately decided to keep Live. I can't imagine not having Live installed at all times now.

hell yeah dude, during my current hard times with money I have a constant list of what items I can live with selling and which ones I can't. my 2 electribes are probably the first to go if I get desperate. live would probably be the last to go.
