How many unfinished Live Projects you have?

I've just been counting how many unfinished songs & half-baked ideas i have around in my computer and there's 103 of them beauties!

I looked at this a few months ago and it freaked me that I had so many unfinished projects. Maybe it doesn't mean anything at all, but it was a surprise. If you look at the dates, you can also get some idea about your work over time. Each year has more .als files than the last year. I am NOT finishing projects at a much more productive rate.

I voted 0, not because I don't know what a Live Project is, just because I rarely if ever leave my songs unfinished. I keep working at them until they are done the way I wanted, or they get deleted and I start fresh

but I never delete ANYTHING.
my thinking is if I pressed save once then I thought it had something.
I often retreve older ideas and develop them quite sucessfully, even years after I've originally written them, so I don't mind hording Logic/Live/MIDI files.

1-10 on my current computer (which I've had for about 6 months). I thought I had more than that, but to my surprise I realized I do actually end up finishing a lot of things.

Like somebody else said here, if i saved it, there was something good in there - maybe a nice midi riff, a cool effect chain or a nice combination of loops, messing with some synth and coming up with a great sound, things like that.

So I think it's good not to delete anything you saved, for those moments when you're working in some track and inspiration fails you.

Start browsing your other projects and eventualy one of them will 'click' with your current mood and you will get something productive done, even if it's just a little detail here and there.

Agreed. However, it is hard to convince myself to not delete something especially if I find myself listening to the same loop for 30 minutes.

Everything sounds "tired" when that happens.

That's the all point, you don't have to.

If you have lots of ideas to work on and that one isn't 'clicking', just move on to something else. Another day this might be the one that clicks and you go: yeah, i know exactly what this loop needs to move forward now.

I understand this. I wasn't trying to frustrate you. I'm sure everyone has gotten caught in the loop of listening to a loop. Pun intended.

I just have one really really huge live set I've been working on forever, and a few songs I'm finishing up.

all my other stuff is on cubase...
