I'm either asking if there is something like this or asking wouldn't it be nice?

I think video tutorials are the best way to learn software. Most instruction manuals read like 100 page expanded feature lists with no practical application. I think we all agree that Live has the best built in tutorials that most other, if not all, software doesn't offer.

There's a lot of great video tutorials out there but most run $50 - $100 a pop and while that isn't too bad wouldn't it be great if you could go to one site that has them all in streaming format? To me that would be worth a monthly or annual membership fee. They could even have user submitted videos that should have some kind of review process before they are posted. There's too much crap to wade through on youtube and most of the time I don't find what I am looking for. There are already sites that do this but it's just for your standard big name software like Logic and Photoshop. It would be great if they had one site that is just for music software and techniques.

Does something like this already exist out there? Would you subscribe to a site like this? Who wants to fund this?

Mostly basic stuff, i suppose, but they cover Live, Reason, Cubase, Logic, PT, etc.

That's a good start but a little pricey. $15 for a month or $75 for a year. That would be reasonable if you had access to everything on the site but its only access to your program of choice. It would also be cool to have access to videos for plugins like Kontakt, Operator, Reaktor...Hell, throw some MAX/MSP stuff in there too. Anything and everything a computer musician would be interested it.

But I'll just stop there because from the lack of responses to this post I guess there really isn't that high of a demand. I would have thought differently but no big deal.

the videos the Abes put out are great. also if you can get through the entire tips n tricks sticky you'd be a Live ninja.

If there's an aspect of Live you'd like to know better start a thread, I'm always amazed at how people use and abuse Live using features I thought I knew.

I totally agree with all that but I am saying for beyond just Live. I'm talking about a site that has collected all available video tutorials for ALL programs, plugins, techniques, etc. and you pay a monthly fee or whatever to have access to them whenever you want.

Hell, I'd be thrilled if they would just add video tutorials to Netflix. It's the same concept....except streaming on your computer...and only related to music. Maybe my posted was just a little long winded for people to grasp the simplicity of the concept. I like typing lots of words.

You're the one sitting in Silicon Valley asking about starting an online company. Not a bad idea, get secure online video transfer computer server things, find the videos, negotiate a licensing fee per play. Profit. Retire.

Of course with your business model you'll change to a porn service in 6 months. From the forum antics I'd bet Live users spend more on porn than gear.
