midi controller problems
hey all just wondering if im doing anything wrong/stupid here or what - im trying to map a slider on my keyboard to the crossfader in live but theres three sections to click on the crossfader bit when the midi map window is active, and for each one of them the slider just turns the crossfader from left to right instantly - no movement or anything just on - off kind of behaviour ??? what the hell? how do i fix this?

are you sure that's not the key map your using?
I just click the crossfader in MIDI map mode and the job's done.
I think the key map breaks the cross fader into 3 sections so you can assign individual buttons to left, centre and right.

you need to use the middle part of the midi assignments, otherwise it'll go straight to either side. sounds like you've tried that though and it ain't working. i'd try and check out what midi your controller is sending out and see if thats where the problem might be coming from...
