Ruining a perfectly good Roots performance, sheesh. What's with that keyboard stand?
Suit #1: I mean, have you got any insight as to why a bright boy like this would jeopardize the lives of millions?
Suit #2: No, sir, he says he does this sort of thing for fun.

When you find a video of them actually playing live (all of them)... give us an update. :D
What is that? A .38?

38, 39, whatever it takes.

wow, that was horrible.

i mean, a few of his sounds in there were actually pretty interesting...

but the musicianship and taste level just isnt there. he can't really be on the same level as those guys in a live situation.

By blatantly not listening to what everyone else was doing?

personally I think it was bad in concept anyway, bt could have done anything and it would have been bad no matter what.
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

I'm pretty much the last person to take up for BT, but that actually wasn't that bad.
Maybe mixed a little nasty, but honestly you could fart a taco bell breakfast into a radio shack mic over the roots playing live and it could sound great.

let me hear a "hell yeah!" from anyone who'd love to have some stems of hat track loops from the roots drummer...

damn, I guess homeboy never learned to play well with others....

reminds me of another failed concept I saw live recently..Erykah Badu on tour. She always performs with the best R&B musicians around so I was really excited to see her at such a small venue as the the fillmore in SF. Well, she had the crack band as usual, with an incredible drummer just kicking ass, playing the arrangements perfect, leading the band into every change....and you could barely, I mean barely hear him. I only heard at all because I was close enough to hear his rim shots acoustically. They had this MPC turned way up and this guy was kicking out some cool beats, but the sound was dominating and you couldn't even heard the drummer. They also started some songs to a prerecorded beat....interesting concepts, horrible execution.

Not to mention the little midi drum pads hooked up to an imac right next to erykah that she jammed on....

She acknowledged her band once during the whole show, and it was to ASK THE AUDIENCE TO BOO THEM!!!! She was singing these solo riffs and she yelled at the keyboard player for not picking up some line she sang....she was like 'that was from nas the ilmatic.......people, can you boo my band for me'.

She did go through a medly of old school rap which was dope, but thats one diva i'll never see again.

I think BT is uber pretentious, but that wasn't bad. The mix stank, but perhaps the live sound was ok. His synths where too high in the mix, no doubt.
Lots of gear. :)

meh, it was what it was, poor mixing at the console if nothing else, the detuned bass needed to be chilled out.

a better performance than the phrenology tour, 18 people on stage, couldn't tell who was doing what, their keyboard player (former keys player?) and his triton were just toooooo heavy in the mix.

if you didn't like it you probably didn't like the style.

nice to see techno lead lines played live, I don't know about the keyboard stand, cheese rock move or showmanship? wtf are people doing watching carson daily anyway? for shame...
