good midi keyboard to take traveling?
am taking the laptop away and would like to take a small midi keyboard any ideas? needs to fit in hold all rucksack

the flattest one is probably the edirol PCR-M1
I have one, it is OK and the half-travel keys are OKish.
it can tend to have problems with sending uneven velocity info though which is a bit shit.
Usb powered - so there's only one cable to take. it's the same width as the average laptop and fits in my laptop bag alongside my lappie.

Plus: it's the thinnest of it's kind
Minus : they can be a bit shit with velocities if you get a bad one.

I would recommend the xiosynth or the x-station, both from novation. the x-station has a built in synth, faders, knobs, pitch bend, modulation and xy pad. the xiosynth has all the above, a better a synth, but doesn't have the faders.
both have a built in good quality ASIO soundcards with phantom power for mics. (2 ins 2 outs)
