Hardware equivalent to Live

Post by stuart64 » Wed Aug 22, 2007 1:14 pm

I know there isn't one but is there one that's close?

the closest I've found is the MPC range and am thinking of getting the MPC1000.

Thought I'd put it up here in case i missed something.

BTW I mostly make meldic music rather than hip hop or percusive driven tunes.

Thanks

stuart

Mpc probably is closest thing to Ableton. But it's main purpose is to serve as drum machine and phrase sampler rather than melodic instrument.

Even if you got an MPC you still need a keyboard, or at least midi controller to lay down melodies.

You should be looking at synth workstation like triton, motif or roland. Or other sampler keyboard. Then get yourself one of those midi drum pad controllers, hook it up to the keyboard and bang out the drums.

For chopping and sampling, use free software called Audacity, and you're good to go.
