Cameras are controlled with VISCA, which is a video control protocol. All video camera parameters can be controlled, including panning, tilting, zooming, setting night vision mode, exposure, recall of presets, etc.

The VISCA program runs on a PC, with direct control from the PC, or Live control from a Mac via MIDI.

I use Arkaos VJ. Although the interface is really poor, the keyboard/sampler/synth analogy works really well with Live. Your same lighting looping CCs as LFOs can control just about every Arkaos parameter.

PM me if you're interested in chatting about Mac support, Arkaos, and maybe even commercial viability of your plug-in.

I think my solution is viable, I had a PM from Amaury(Ableton Support Team) half hour after first posting my project to the forum, which made me feel very good.
As for making a profit, i think so, theres probably 100,000+ clubs/pubs/bars around the world that would benefit from my solution, and theres millions of people at home who might use my media codec.
All depense on how well I can market it, and run an international company.
The hardware is not a problem, I used to work for "radio rentals" servicing TV's and Videos here in uk so I know loads of electronic engineers that can help in assembly, if it gets too big I could just move the assembly to japan, at half the cost.
But I don't wish to do that as I like the ideas of a Made in England Product, (England don't export that much anymore).

Some of you may be wondering how my solution will work in clubs and bars ect.
Venues would simply replace their system with ours using there existing dmx lighting, then someone would design a load of lighting sequences and then save them as a "VST Bank file" which could then be passed on to dj's for use in their mix, or spend a few hours before hand designing their own.

Also may be able to finally get rid of the "Reading emails while on stage reputation".

Thought I would show a feature which you can't see in the screenshots obove, outputing to multiple channels, quick and easy!
Example is having all your shutters(strobe effect) flash together without having to draw loads of envelopes, simply use the included spectrum analiser set to low band.

Heres an image of the USB hardware interface were designing to go along side our series of plugins.
Case is dicast aluminium which is very strong idea for stage use(Take the weight of a person easily!).
Electronics is based on a 2 chip micro proccesor design, were using the highest quality components built on to a professionally produced Fiberglass PCB.

Ill be honist to the forum, parts to produce each interface is just under £30, so we won't be charging £350 like other DMX interfaces that can't be integrated with Ableton and have a group of lighting responding to Ableton's Impulse while another group of lighting responding to Operator, all moving perfectly synced to Abletons beat.

In a few weeks time well release a video of AVA & Ableton in action.

Looks good, regarding price, perhaps if you ready to take risk and price it as low as possible, you should be getting lots more of buyers, not just like myself who want and need it, but also "why not" type. Size+ weight, less then DI or some ground lifter, your gadget should be in the tool box of any performer along with tape, Leatherman and a torchlight.

This is dope !!!

Fantastic - finally a means of sequencing lighting (without being shackled with the bandwidth of MIDI -> DMX) within Live.

Can you please add me to any mailing list / announcement list when this is actually available for sale?

Superb!
This should work nicely on my Bootcamped WinXP installation on my Mac Book Pro ...

Thanks all for the encouragement, goes a long way and rikhyray I realy like your website's intro, a lot of work or money.

Were adding a new feature which is assigning lighting fixtures to positions (left center and right):

What this means is when a fixture is set to "left" and you send a value it's: 0 = far left and 255 = far right(as in normal dmx).
When set to "right" it's the other way around: 0 = far right and 255 = far left.
And finally when set to "Center" its 0 = center, -127 = far left and 127 = far right.

This will be used with midi velocities for launching sequences by notes, simular to a synth, play a light note and the lights play there sequence to the outside and when a hard note is played they play there sequence to the inside(or top to bottom, or even both) and when set to "center" they play towards the center on a light note. Should be very effective and time saving, music for the eyes.

On every step you can adjust the velocity sensitivity for every control, great effects! :) I have not looked at any other lighting software as copying ideas may limit what can be done, sometimes adding one feature stops you adding another thus would end up just like theres, ive never heard of anyone prasing lighting software as it exists today.

A plugin I have yet to show is the Master Output, which you drop on to the master track, containing the Crossfader and a few other features like device on/off ect. You can either have the crossfader independant or assign your midi controller to both our crossfader and also Ableton's crossfader so can crossfade lighting and audio at the same time.

You can also assign our controls to other things like your LP filter's midi control so as you move the filter down, so do the lights :)

If anyone has other ideas for lighting plugins, let me know, probably won't build them now because I want to release what I have got, but in version 2.

Maplin Electronics here in UK have a deal going on lighting, buy 2 and get the stand free for only £160(they were £100 per light, now £80), lights have pan, tilt, 11 colors, 9 shapes and a strobe effect, im using a few there good for the price(Please don't go out and buy them now if your thinking about buying my interface just in case we don't complete and release it, I don't want to be flamed!!!) The built in audio to light feature is not too good, they just swing round randomly and look a bit silly(so do most night clubs lighting, ive been traveling for 8 months here in the UK), though you can connect them together which I have not tried as I have my solution and Ableton! :) Hopefuly soon you will too! :)

I think this the larges post ive ever posted. Better get back to work. :)

Will definatly be a few months(Could be a little bit more, but not much), still got to finish off the 3 existing plugins and create a new one which is a synth, feature wise simular to a midi-dmx adaptor. Also have to finish off the interface design.

Just been checking out the competition, one of the best systems I can find is : http://www.dimmer.de/shopping/artikelde ... 259621fb9d
Costs 11424.00 €. Can it do what our solution can do? NOT A CHANCE!!

The reason ive checked them out is our solution is amasing! Having different lighting respond to different tracks within ableton is a new thing, the results really are out of this world! Be producing a video at end of week so make sure you check it out. :D

You end up tripping off the results!
