just cracked the display of my powerbook

Post by Johnisfaster » Mon Sep 24, 2007 9:44 am

knocked the computer off the edge of the bed. got a small spiderweb crack on the display now. fucking sucks.

is this crack gonna get worse fast or should I expect it to stay the same for while? or am I gonna be without visual without a few days?

Check your household insurance policy, it might be covered. I spilt coffee in my Sony Vaio and claimed on the insurance. Unfortunately it was "beyond economic repair"... so they replaced it with a brand new model ... *result* !!!

Yep... check your insurance.

My iBook died, and the music insurance bought me a brand-new MacBook!

I don't even have household insurance I don't think. I'm a renter, and this took place in a motel.

I'm gonna have to make a back up real soon I can see it's already gotten worse.

oh theres no way I'll repair it, I know that would be dumb for this out of date machine. but I just bought a quadcore for home so I don't know if I can convince my lady to be down with me buying a lappy now too...

but I travel alot so I need one and I don't want it to be a cheap piece of crap

That's a drag man, bummer. I am sure it hurts like hell. Any chance you might get some funding, even partial, via your employer?

One idea might be to buy a DOA unit on eBay for parts. Just a thought.
