I'll NEVER buy another m-audio stuff...

Post by alvaro » Sun Sep 30, 2007 4:48 pm

Sorry, i had to say it.... almost 1 year after Microsoft Vista RTM released and no F***ING audio drivers developed, neither vista 32 or 64bit. But oh, they have plenty of time to keep releasing other bunch of products.

The worst company support i ever suffered ever. Never again.

I'm on the other side...I've owned 2 M-audio cards (Firewire Audiophile and Firewire 410) and never had problems with them, they work fine like the first day... :D
I'm sorry for those vista users and their issues with the drivers, but us...the Mac "zombies", have the driver for the ultimate OSX (10.4.10) available.

Mac user here, and my FW 410 has been limping along since the day I got it, years ago. It works...mostly. Haven't had to restart my computer because of it in a while.

Yeah - I'm still waiting for Enigma to be certified against Vista. I can't believe after a year of Vista being avail to developers they still don't have this done...... and no ETA.

Had a FW410 under XP for about a year and never had a single issue with it.

Granted the vista driver problems must be a pain in the arse though. Is it really that tuff to make a driver, vista has been out for ages?

Great support? This coming from the person who initially said "... no f***ing drivers developed". Now a beta driver still isn't good enough?

I installed the windows vista beta driver for my firewire 410 and it works flawlessly, seems better that XP version in fact.

Whiners.

M Audio released Vista drivers for the Black Box a couple months ago.
FWIW, even within XP, the Vista drivers work better than the old ones.

The biggest problem I've seen with FW410 drivers is the sleep mode handling, mostly when waking up from sleep, in the current drivers, I need to toggle the volume in the M-Audio FireWire application for audio to come back. This problem comes and goes with each version of these drivers, sigh. --Kent

My 410 has been on the road and home for 2 years.
Almost everyday it goes on an airplane ride.
It has never let me down.
The only instability is it's owner/operator.
