6-pin Firewire laptops advice needed
Mac being more expensive then pc is history, MBP is the best value for money and no headache. Any pc notbook that is so well build -some Sony, Allienware or Asus cost more then MBP.
Samsung has models with 6 pin Firewire but since they dont use TI chips, you will have another problem.
And you get free idiots bonus- you will be seen as a real pro _ "he has a Mac".

Yes and yes.4.33 wrote:is it some utility at startup which lets me choose win/osx to load?

Most importantly, it's not some kind of emulator. It runs PC applications at a comparable speed to a similarly specified PC. There are some reports that Live runs faster under Boot Camp than natively under OS X.

OS X, Live 9, Microbook II

That Sonic whatever name look really dangerous, if it is as good as it says...but how could you get it in Moskva ?
The problem with Sony is the cheap ones are... cheap, like Macbooks, meant for general use. but not audio or video. If you decide for aSony let me know the model, I am familiar with Vaio (I use either Mac or Vaio only) The good ones mostly cost same as MBP or more. But if that powered FW is so important I would get MBP.

Not with bootcamp. There are other alternatives for doing this, a sourceforge open-source thing (can't remember the name). It's A LOT more work, while bootcamp is pretty much seamless.LJN wrote:To the mac users - can you run XP under boot camp without having the OSX installed?
It's not a big deal, however, as you can make the OS X partition quite small, and set the default boot to Windows.
With bootcamp, the system disk itself will end up being ONLY Windows and OS X (and a couple of "hidden" partitions). You cannot alter this arrangement. How many partitions can XP address while booted under boot camp? Cheers
After that, you can "address" as many partitions (on separate drives) as "normal" XP.
There's nothing special about bootcamped XP; it's 100% XP, in every way.
Take care,

infinite density, zero volume
How is it build, material- gets hot, noisy ? feels solid ? Do they let you specify some details, configuration ?How much total you paid(in Euros).fuzzyhead wrote:He mays get it in Moskva the same way I got mine in France, with USPS...
This model has FW 800 TI chipset
I get a previous version that never crashed and eats plugins for breakfast
Frankly, I haven't seen better notebook for music and video, ever - at least to my prefs.. 3 FW, PCMCIA,RAM, HD... looks like they got everything right.
