places for electronic musicians to play in Seattle?

Post by Kia » Sat Apr 03, 2004 9:31 am

Hi!

A friend of mine and I are starting to play live in Seattle area.
Our music is improvised music with laptops (Reason/Live) and some outboard effects, guitar etc.

We are looking for places to play live. We are not hoping to get paid, but
selling our CDs. Please let us know if you know good places.

Thanks!

i moved away about a year ago, so some of this might be inacurate but, aurafice (or aurifice) on pike or pine is really small, but they had a tuesday night electronic music thing for a while, they might still have it. the mars bar on eastlake was electro-friendly. chop-suey has had some great electronic acts too. look up consolidated works and find out if they still do their weekly tech-audio-video-thing with spaceboat.

offtopic, but I was reading that on Monday it's the 10th anniversary of Kurt Cobains death. Having grown up with bands like nirvana, pearl jam and soundgarden, I strictly consider that alternative, not so in your face sound (call it grunge, or what you will..) as the SEATTLE sound.

the topic of your post is an irony that opened up my eyes to exactly where we've come in the last 10 years.

i hope you find places to gig @.

Kia,
I'm interested in playing live in Seattle too, so let me know what you find out. Also, I'd love to check out your music, so give me a holler when you get a gig.
