Many Other Important Improvements

Post by jah » Thu Oct 04, 2007 8:27 pm

add 'em to this thread.

i think this is one small thing not mentioned in the text: looks like you can 'fold'/'unfold' all kinds of devices now. a folded device will take up very little space on the screen.

like you can do with midi racks in live 6, you can now do will all types of devices.

cool

I'll need one of you to confirm the exact location, but there should also be a 'fine' tempo control - if you map it to a midi slider/knob, you'll have a control that increases/decreases the BPM in small increments, relative to the current BPM

is there something for folder tracks? Looks like its possible with the new drum racks but can you do it with normal tracks?

Got it. When Midi mapping, the tempo control is now split into two: left hand side maps to coarse control, right hand side maps to fine control. So you can easily configure two knobs to control coarse & fine BPM. Nice.

micro-improvement: ctrl-click support in the help menu - show the preference folder ;-)
actually it was already in 6.0.9 or 6.0.10 - but hey, did you know?

cheers,

Hmm nice but doesn't work for me? You mean opens the folder directly or opens the lesson and then you click the link? The latter works but not the former...

I'm no betatester (yet), but according to the video the Midi Editor Pianoroll will show sample/instrument names of the Drum Rack pads and will show REX slices as "Slice 1, Slice 2, etc."

I really do hope that you can rename Pianoroll notes yourself now (especially for Slices, cause that numbering can be unintuitive) or even better that the Pianoroll will take over names from plug-ins like Battery.

'copy value to siblings'

copies the current value of a macro mapped parameter,
to that same parameter, on all equal devices in a rack..

acces through the contextual menu at the mapped parameter..

Anyone mentioned "edit info text"
which means you can add a text note to a device, a track, a rack, etc ?

so next time you open the file you have some reminders of what the hell you were thinking.
