Did you download the Ableton Live 6 Band Recording Rack? I can't get it to record my band without the rack instantiated on the first track. Map the Macros to the band members.
I'm lying.

Racks can be useful for DAW recording. Not a bad way to create separate mixes for myself (ie. compressed, dry, in the mix) and the talent (ie. less-compressed, a little verb, loud) when dealing with vocal or instrument punch ins.

Yes.
I, like maybe some others, thought that Ableton wasn't as fully featured for this type of thing.
But for me, it's just as capable for what I need to do when recording a traditional rock band. And the fact that I know the program better than any other, makes it an easy choice for me.
