Post by Budh » Fri Nov 16, 2007 12:51 am

Hi,
Im looking for a good guitar chords either software
It seems that the new EIC has some guitar chords in it, (ill pursache live 7)

But for the moment Im trying to play guitar using my midi keyboard like I was playing guitar back in the days :)

What are my options?

Native Instruments Guitar Rig is one, although I have just started trying it out myself. If you try it you could give me a feedback.

Well, if I put all midi accordingly to the guitar chord
even if I set the output throu guitar Rig, its definitly nothing close to a guitar...

I use Realguitar for all my acoustic guitar and it is a Dream to use. The same company released Realstrat (which I haven'y used) for electric guitar. I think they have demos. The control is what makes them (up strum, down strum and muted). It's also a lot of fun to play...

this simply rocks : it looks stupid but once you touch it you can't let go ... have been strumming for hours yesterday , and it doesn't sound too bad either

the thing detects up/down strokes , velocity based on speed of strumming , you can play damped chords , you can assign 8 chords at once ... and it comes with a carton plectrum included 8)

You can take a look at http://www.teragon.org/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page
for the location of preset downloads for the Live Chord plugin.

Also, you might want to check out using Live in conjunction with the FLStudio VST using the 'Slayer' guitar VSTi and run your midi kybd into that, In conjunction with the arp, jeepers-- it can be shred-tastic! :D
UTENZIL a tool... of the muse.

Thanks for all your inputs...
Actually I played guitar for 7 years...

I had to sell it a few ago since I hicked across Canada for 10 months and needed the money :P

I might simply buy another electric guitar...
its just a SUPER pain to start to program (palm muted, double picking, up picking and such...) nothing can replace a good guitar riff that sounds "real"

Unless someone has a very good guitar software that will be almost as good...

Thanks again
