Question about upgrading to Live 7

Post by bleepsnbreaks » Fri Nov 30, 2007 12:54 am

I have a question about the best method to upgrade Live 6 to 7.
I have 6 installed at the moment and its got my main library, with all my custom patches I have created for the built in pluggins and for operator etc.
If I convert my library to 7 will I be able to open all my projects from 6 without any problems?
Or am I better creating a new library and copying the individual custom patches from the old library manually.
I would preser to only have 7 installed, rathern than keeping 6 & 7 both on the drive if possible.....

don't touch your library

I haven't heard of any conversions to do

just install 7, point it to your library and setup its browser to point to your other directories. done deal.

I haven't downloaded yet but I haven't heard of any issues today.

OK, when I installed Live 7beta it said it need to convert my library to make it compatible with 7 and that it woudlnt then be compatible with 6.
I clicked no to that and made a new copy of the library for 7, just want to avoid having things all doubled up and was unsure of whats the best thing to do.

hmmm to be safe, maybe wait for someone who's done this already. you'll probably be fine just using the same ol' library and moving forward. I also did the beta, at first I used my regular library, I don't recall any conversions but that was over a month ago. I mostly pointed L7b to make its own library.
