how to fade

how do i make a track fade in and out? for endings and beginnings.

Automation to Master level?

Probably better if you burn out.

That automation on the master level would be good, too.

This is one of the many "little things" that pisses me off in Live...no auto-crossfades and no "fade handles" on the edges of clips to drag. ugh.

At this point, this is my only real complaint about live. There really is no reasonable workaround.

Wish there were some settings on the fade button.

Heh, maybe not...re-reading it sounds like he wants to make the "song" fade in/out, not just a "track". Sometimes confusing as the term is used duplicitously in recording i.e., a track is made up of many tracks...but I suppose in Live terminology I'm talking about Clips.

Still, if Live had this functionality (like it should), one could mix their song down to a stereo track and then treat it like a clip, pulling the edges to fade in/out.
