why is the vst support disabled as a rewire-slave?

I don't get it. why is the vst support disabled as a rewire-slave - other applications can do it. I heard that the rewire standard doesn't allow it, but this can't be the reason (... as I said, other programms can do it).

until now I reroute my audio-out from ableton via soundcard to cubase (I love RME) and clock live via midi-clock to it. it works but it's cumbersome. I know live has a sequencer too and actually I like and use it, but for "hardcore classical editing" I like cubase more ( ...and I hope live never take this "classical editing" approach since that is what makes live so great and enjoyable - I don't want a "bettert" sequencer in live I want better rewire ;-) ). I have to say that I use live way more often than cubase, but sometimes I need them both.

anyone out there who thinks the same? 8)
