Looking for a certain drum sound

Post by pirateabc » Fri Dec 28, 2007 3:54 am

Hey guys, just wondering if theres a preset drum sound in Ableton 7 that sounds very 80's synthpoppy, like New Order, OMD, Depeche Mode, etc.. So far I can't quite get that sound. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

sample it. Blue Monday has lots of naked kick drum hits on it, like the intro.

Blue Monday as in New Order's Blue Monday?...never really considered that one but hell I love that band and that song in particular as well!...thumbing through my CD's as I type and giving it a listen :)

If i remember rightly Groove agent VSTi has lots of 80s type drum sounds..Hardware would of course be a Roland 808

my 11 year old son has been playing the upright bass for 3 years now...over the last year, he's also picked up the bass guitar. He has been using a school loaner bass and amp until Tuesday when he opened up the new bass guitar I bought him for Christmas...now I'm starting to pick it up and play too...tonight, I play bass as well :)
