Best audio interface for playing solitaire?

Post by beats me » Wed Jan 09, 2008 3:04 am

I recently blew the dust off my Sony Vaio and discovered the only file that wasn't corrupted was the solitaire game. Instead of getting mad I decided to embrace it.

I don't feel the internal sound card is giving me enough range and dynamics when the cards shuffle, flip, or stack. I'd prefer something that offers 7.1 surround sound so I feel like I am at a casino. Obviously this isn't a huge priority so I don't want to spend more than $3,500 tops.

Suggestions?

Firewire Solo from M-Audio - makers of the finest souncards for playing Solitaire.

Disclaimer: M-Audio guarantees that proper drivers are available for Windows 3.1's Solitaire (other operating systems will be available...someday).

I'll second that. M-audio firewire interfaces often disconnect themeselves, leaving you in perfect silence to play solitaire.

M-Audio is shit for and at the low-end of the market for aspects of aural solitaire. I've owned one and everything sounded flat and dull.

Get the Motu-Ultralite...It gives the sounds in solitaire a fuller and much richer sound as is realllly good for solitairing in a live environment. Great high end for when the cards shuffle and massive bass on the victory jingle.

I'd say that if you're serious about your game, it's Apogee or nothing. I switched to Apogee in 2006 and when I play on other peoples' systems these now, I reflexively check my pants after every shuffle.

80g ipod. yours for $250. it keeps track of how bad you are doing, AND the cards make noises WHILE you listen to your music. how cool is that?

that would be the Creative Labs Sound Blaster, the best sound card ever.
