actualy looks like a goody cheapy way to get a great pallette of historical roland sounds, add to that the korg legacy instruments, add to that some choice stuff from Ni, spectrasonics, and the environment of Live 4.0 and yippity doo daa yippity daay

How would a soft that only runs on game boxes could thread a serious professional tools. There is a difference between a toy and a tool!!!

at some point i want to get one of those video game music maker thingies for the xbox or ps2 and see how far i can take it. maybe do a whole album with one and just tweak the bejesus out of it just to see what it can do.

btw, this whole "toy" versus "serious tool" crap is tired. anything can be a serious tool if you view it as such.

for me though, it's much more fun seeing everything as a toy.

Having messed around with a copy.
It's easy to use.
Not a do it all application but it does make beat creation a doddle.
Which is IMHO always a good launching pad.
You get the entire Roland Drum Machine back catalog ,808,909,606,707,CR78 etc etc etc ...
Also for the price you get PSYN which poops all over Reasons Subtractor any day of the week.
The supplied DX effects are good and it can be loaded up with more effects.
If you where to just use it for beats ,basses and PSYn patches and rewire it into LIVE and mangle from their I personally wouldn't knock it as a sketch pad for ideas.
Or export the audio to say AudioMulch and mangle some more...
Or Granulab and mangle then LIVE import etc...
And it's actually designed to be used with the SP-606 also an exports all patterns via USB to the SP as uncompressed sample data.
It's not a blow me over application but as stated for the drum set the odd JV based soundset and the drumset it's dirt cheap.

This will do about as much damage to the Live market as Project 5 did to Reason. None!

it doesn't have an audio input.

I personally don't like Cakewalk. The demo of project 5 needed large buffer sizes than any other app I am running and it was unstable. Same with Sonar 2.2 XL I bought... I gave up: no more Cakewalk for me.
