thing is, that would indeed require quite a change in the code base, since it would entail playing two streams of audio at the same time. This is the window through which we will see crossfading in arrangement view, multiple take stacking, and so on. This is the next major change in Live.... which, I might add, some of us have been hoping for for ages...

they don't have to go that way if they make a looper plug in, rather than make clips sound on sound ready. a delay plugin plays both the dry and wet parts, right?

But what do i know?

what you consider "a simple addition" might be a complete programing nightmare, how do you know?

of course magazine reviews are ass kissing.

.lm.
re: magazines - exactly. pure ass-kissing. but in this case, even the ass kissing mags had to admit that the Live 7 is a pretty weak upgrade.

re: loopers. I didn't mean they should implement looping. That would be a big project. What I mean is that when I read over the various tutorials it looks like if ableton added just a few little things it would eliminate all the various midi utils people use to enter keystokes etc. and do mapping.

I am a developer and am well aware of end users thinking hard stuff should be easy. I also know that tons of companies don't use their own products enough to understand how a few small (small, small, small) changes could make big changes.

In the end, live is the best sequencer around. I love it. But I always see tiny things that a lot of people seem to need that never get done year after year.

Its always the way when meeting your idols.. there is a quote somewhere about that.. It because you hold this person or company in such high regards, that they will inevitably fail to meet your expectations..

Don't forget that they may have just paid some monkeys to work at the stand when you saw them.. Im sure it'd be different if Robert or Gerhard was there ?! Hopefully so.

Try not to let it beat you down.

Lame dude.

Ableton probably is so sick of putz's like you that this is why the keep a distance. Did it ever occur to you that these guys are working? Just because you had to waste precious fuel and space to fly across the country and stroke your inner nerd to "meet" them doesn't mean they have to perform for you.

Chances are I probably won't ever develop a major software program or even release a mainstream record, which is totally fine by me but in the event that I do, I'd keep my distance from the legions of bispectled whack offs like yourself. You are probably the same type of guy who hits on a waitres while shes in the middle of her busy shift and when she turns you down you tell all your friends "she's a fucking dyke".

I seriously can't believe you have the nerve to title a post and basically crown yourself an ass.

Ableton Live is good but nothing special. Gimmicky and overpriced these days (what with the fucking thick ignorant fucks forum fan club, ableton are laughing all the way to the bank. They got that respect money cannot buy).
What do you all expect, oh yeah these types of responses:
"no I've met them they are cool... sooo coooool"
"What do you know, Live is like Live you need to think outside the box"
targeting anyone who has pointed out any shortcomings have paid off in dividends.

STOP KISSING THEIR ASS. ITS NOT A GOOD LOOK.
and look whats happened.. your mates have ditched you  bless

Too funny.

Not this time. Computer Music described Live 7 as "more like Live 6.5", while Future Music also complained that there isn't more going on in this upgrade. And those two mags have previously been Live's biggest promoters.

I think that on the PR front Ableton have some serious ass-kissing to do, for sure, and this thread doesn't fill me with confidence that they have the right personnel in the right positions, at least on the USA front.

Not welcoming??!! Poor show indeed. :(

you really need to chill out.

your vapid attention whoring hatred for Ableton is much more extreme than any fanboyism around here. you're so bent on being a dick that my (for example) negative reply to Neb shows that I've 'abandoned him' when in fact you should thank me for not acting like a fan not towards him, for once. it also shows that you've never had any friends, Neb is my friend and that's not what it's about, not that you'd know anything about friendship.

it's a safe bet that you've never met someone from the forum because you're a complete twat. I've met plenty (not that I'm without my twat moments), and it's really fun to meet others who are into a very specific hobby that you enjoy. it is a chance to geek out and talk shop on a very narrow level. take that a step further as meeting people who work inside the company, it could be a very interesting conversation.

and now remind me why it's best to just ignore you with your reply. I'll wait to add you to my troll block list, feel free to add me anytime.

ps why the fuck do you visit the forum for a product you hate filled with people you loathe? you have THAT little to do?

OK, nice effort. you're saying I shouldn't tell you what to and not to write in response to not reading my post, where I could've easily said 'fuck yeah kinetic, thanks for keeping it real.' you know you're wrong.

but it's good insight into your alter-nick.

bye and blocked.

Every tradeshow Ive ever been to the people in the booth were trying to promote their products. If I were treated this I would have turned around and left. I find it odd that a company with such good courteous tech support(in my experience) would have this going on at a public event. even if namm is for only people in the trade to do business(i havent a clue) they should realize all kinds of people shoot videos and put them up on the internet and this poor level of professionalism could definitely influence what goes up.

kinetcuk, what do you mean by "you and your kind?"

The funny thing is, from the pictures I've seen.. There's not a single familiar face in that Ableton booth.. If those are the new yorkers... Then where is David, Dave, Jesse, Shawn, Claudia,......???

We know the developers are in Berlin working on the beta. So where are the REAL Ableton guys?
Product experts... They're afraid of real Live users like Neb, because they would get pwnd in a heart beat.
Ableton has been hiring product experts for years now. Can somebody point me to the posts where they drop the knowledge?
