also Chimay with a strong cheddar, had that at a restaurant for dessert, totally surprisingly good.
From memory, Chimay is a beer and I'm pretty sure I have seen it in the shops here in Holland. Ice wine I haven't seen, but I have never really looked for it. I'll check them out. Thanks for the tip.

I've been watching that movie a lot lately, too damn cool. I did find that once I watched it with subtitles on I got a LOT more out of it, don't need them anymore.

The Scots can cook up a supremely hard bastard that's for sure. About 80% of the SAS are Scottish and that's a good indicator.
The highlands are teeming with weird ex special forces guys who could rip your heed off with their eyelids.

Meanwhile in England we are all too busy being gay, uptight and having bad teeth to get into that sort of malarkey.

you are joking right? 8O
Yep it's the delights of bonny Scotland he extols. Himself being a stocky wee baldie drugged up Scottish man. Most likely on this forum under a dodgy name.

It's easy to mistake the two nationalities I guess, they both like a drink and a fight and they both share a hatred of the English just because we raped them a bit , tsk!

Not sure how many hard guys from Eire join the UK special forces though. Not too many I bet.

Maybe that's the problem?

My brother was at some huge trade show in Las Vegas last year, and a German company won this 'Best of Show' award, and the CEO gets up on stage and says "I'd like to thank our competitors for making the products that allow us to take home this award" or words to that effect. In America.

Talk about not reading page 1 of the 'CULTURAL DIFFERENCES'-manual... fun guy, though...
Suit #1: I mean, have you got any insight as to why a bright boy like this would jeopardize the lives of millions?
Suit #2: No, sir, he says he does this sort of thing for fun.

got it here

Irvine Welsh, an acclaimed and often controversial writer of novels, stories and stage and screenplays. Welsh comes from Edinburgh, Scotland, and lives with his American wife Elizabeth, mainly in Dublin, Ireland and Miami Beach, Florida. He travels a great deal and his hobbies include socialising and sporting activities.

so my next question is, are all scots as fanatic about fitba as they seem in his books

like soccer gangs and sh*t

I think it depends. My uncle was scottish, glaswegian. He did like a drink but he was pretty chilled out.Yeah there's an element of truth in Irvine Welshs' books. But England has it's fair share too.I think it's more to do with football as a whole. There's a tribal mentality that goes along with the sport.I've seen gangs start fighting nail and tooth just because they supported a different team,no other reason. The scot do have a reputation though but i can't say they are all that way,i think it depends where you go :)
