That's not an Express interface, it's Cardbus.

The only PCMCIA Express card that I'm aware of at this time is the Apogee Symphony Mobile, which requires having a Symphony system and is for Mac OS only.

RME is reportedly working on an Express card interface, but it's not available yet.

Some shops here in Germany say the RME express card will be available begin of February.
Looking forward to get one myself.

Ive given up on this matter and now use firewire interface.

I really wanted a E-mu express replacement so could still use my 1616M microdock.

Thought about getting an adaptor but there are no Mac drivers either.

E-mu = Great products but run by Arses/Assholes/Brainless Morons.

How can they just not acknowledge the market for mac users, which (regardless of views on the mac/pc debate) is certaintly a huge market to ignore.

There's two. They don't say how much it will cost??? :)

So, besides Creative, there's no express card on the market on the market...

The RME guys at NAMM said that the Express Card will be ready to ship in a month or two. It'll be around $100 more than the street price of the PCMCIA, so around $350. You can use that with your multiface or what not.

Echo are due to update the indigo, but in the words of their sales team rep they've "had manufacturing problems". That was the latest back in September and they were hoping to have it out before the end of 07, so it could be near.

Not much help for the OP, though. :?

well, good luck to them... I know that initially (in fact probably still) their faq said they had no plans to, which seemed foolish. I like Echo gear.

Not quite. It says "There is no ExpressCard version of Indigo i/o or Indigo dj available at this time."

So there is hope! :)

The new 0202 USB card actually has MAc drivers, which is suprising. Emu is owned by Creative Labs, and they have been in numerous lawsuits with Apple over the years, thus no support for Mac until now.

I emailed Echo a couple months ago about this... and I can confirm that there is hope!

I really wish there was more card interfaces for laptops, but thank goodness we have RME! $750 for the Multiface II and $350 for the Expresscard isn't cheap, but it's a whole heck of a lot cheaper than an Apogee Symphony set-up.
