You're probably right, it really should be Ableton's resposibility, and no, I don't think Neb'd be a great choice either, as he's clearly displayed meglomaniac tendencies on many occasions, he also has a fairly large sense of humour gland which may or may not be to everybody's taste, we wouldn't ever want to burden him with that much temptation. He's in "Law" too, that makes him a shark as far as I'm concerned, you NEVER give that sort any power unless you absolutely have to.Astral Fridge Magnet wrote:Which is why I don't trust nebulae. The forum would be inundated with stupid jokes and corny pictures. Plus some people clearly dislike him and him them, so I don't think he should have that power.Martyn wrote:You have to be really careful, power goes to some people's heads in very strange ways. Somebody recently got made a mod on another poular audio forum and practically ruined it in under a month. If he didn't agree with something somebody had said he'd just delete the thread, or the post.
High posters tend to think they "own" the forum. Not a good idea in my opinion. I think it should be solely Ableton's responsibility. While it is better with no moderators, it is true that other music sites have no links to porn, so perhaps that issue has to be addressed.Martyn wrote: They have to be high posters, proving that they spend enough time on the forum to notice and delete porn threads as they appear, and also have no leanings toward meglomania/mischief.
We need Ableton to sort this out with some of their code based witchcraft.
