groove quantize a drum pattern?!?!

Post by animal » Mon Jan 28, 2008 9:15 pm

How do I groove quantize a drum pattern in Live?
I can't find it anywhere except the swing which is not so useful.

Thanks!

can't be done.together with better arpeggio functionality (i.e. more like a step sequencer grid) this is what I miss most from other DAW's (i only use live now.. the others just pale in comparison)

it can be done.

arrange view
drop a template track into track 1
populate the other tracks as necessary
as you warp track 1 the others will follow.

check the manual!!

tone - "check the manual"? the only mention in the manual is in the 'matching video to audio' section and it doesnt mention 'groove quantize' anywhere in the section.

[edit] i take that back - i was looking at the live6 manual.
take a look at page 123 in the Live7 pdf - Tempo Master/Slave

also page 130 of the L7 manual

Multi-Clip Warping
When clips of equal length are multi-selected, adding or changing Warp Markers for one clip will apply identical Warp Markers to all. This is convenient in any situation where several tracks have the same rhythm, and you wish to alter the timing of each recording in the same way. A common scenario would be when multi-tracking a band’s performance, where the musicians all play in time with each other, yet the timing itself is in some way flawed.

Does this also apply to Live 5?
