Side Chain Compression in Ableton 6 Question

Post by sam flanagan » Tue Feb 05, 2008 8:23 pm

So I notice that Ableton 7 has a new side chain feature on some of the effects...

Can I do this in Ableton 6?

I dont mind if its a long way round.

I want to do the obvious and side chain compress a bassline so that it dips in volume during my kick drum samples and gives the kick a bit more room in the mix.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Sam

Use a VST compressor.
Ableton’s engineers are hard
at work developing code that will allow our software to predict the future, but we don’t
anticipate having this available until at least the next major release.

Any freeware ones out and about?

Would it be rude of me to ask how to set it up?
