Post your KEYTAR here!

Post by jesso » Mon Feb 18, 2008 1:44 pm

Due to popular demand (thanks pitch black) here is a picture of my one and only yamaha keytar. More of a toy really, although it does do FM synthasis....
It plays Last Christmas as the Demo.
I think I still have the strap for it somewhere... to complete the look you understand.
Amazing.
I know some of you nerds out there in Ableton land have some much more impressive Keytars than I do.

I thought we could do with a delightfully entertainingly random thread after all that booooring spam. Is it just me, or has the forum has been unusually boring recently?

Lets be avin em then.

Im amazed by the so far pathetic response to this thread.
I was sure that there is a huge stash of Keytars in ableton land.
Come on lets see em.

Weltmeister Combo Bass. An electro-mechanical sorta "rhodes" bass. I picked it up for $60NZ from a second hand shop cos I liked the look of it, and it makes these ridiculous sinewave bass tones.

It has a kind of harpsichord key action that plucks the tines.

ooh..bout the same as a Strat?

Also (way way back in the 80s you understand) I used to own:

Casio AZ-1 (I covered up "Casio" with "HAL 9000")

And then (still back in the 80's, I must say in my own defence...) a Lync LN-4. Though sadly not the Jan Hammer signiture addition...
