Live and Mbox Mini on Leopard...will it work ??

Post by vanhaze » Sun Feb 24, 2008 11:40 am

Hi to all,

I am thinking of buying Digi's Mbox Mini.
Cause i want to have a mobile protools solution.
And i want to run Live with the Mbox mini on my Macbook for dj sets on the road.

The big question ofcourse is : Are Live and the Mbox Mini "friends" ??
I'm on leoapard , my macbook is an intel machine.

The fear for me lies especially in the fact that the Mbox Mini is on USB.
I really can't believe Digi's new Mbox products are still on USB, seems very outdated, cause nowadays we have USB 2 and firewire, both with much better data throughtput.

Cause i WANT to have protools also, i'm quite stuck to buying digi hardware,so if the mbox mini will work great with Live, it would be awesome and a money saver.

There was a post on the digidesign forum about the current release of pt 7.4cs2 working ok on leopard ( anecdotal evidence) but that the rewire plug-in caused some problems and needed to be removed form the folder.

Not sure what to make of that, but that's the info I have.

Digi has been wonderfully slow to update their software - as usual.
Lots of gear. :)
