Are there any endless encoders that aren't detented?

I really don't like detents. Anyone else feel the same? For fine adjustments they are good but it makes tweaking action feel sluggish. Are there any that arent detented?

If there are I would like to see a high speed camera clocked comparison to see just how much time you are saving with your day.

its not about how long they take to turn, it's about feeling of turning, a smooth knob feels much better to my hands than a detented one and its easier to turn back and forth. also detented knobs make a zipping noise when you turn them and i find that annoying when in the studio, but mostly its about the tactile feeling.

If you browse through www.ucapps.de a bunch of the projects there recommend using undented encoders and also give links on where to purchase them.

I agree - the BCR knobs where so much better than the ones on my current Axiom.

I agree to, the endless rotaries on my Remote SL Zero make me sad with all their clicking :(

Are you doing a diy thing? In my experience with detented encoders, there are four "transistions" per click. So it's not unreasonable to want an undetented model.

Thank you for the infos. Actually I am not doing DIY, just curious about what controllers are out there that aren't detented. Looks like the BCR2000 is at the top of my list of non detented controllers.
