I use it and I think it's pretty good.
Asforlacking life, hmmm, seemskinda lively to me. I also love their oddity synth. Bought the other Va thy mke nut rarely use it.
Chech the demo out perhaps? It does have a lot of patches, no sure about 6K but quite a few.
Bit sucky on a mac. Some patches seem to kill my core 2 duo macbook. . .
Only in ableton of course! Logic it works fine.. . .
Cheers

I slipped into a daze, whilst I was there I heard the most startling music, it was at once familiar and alien, reassuring and unsettling.

I have a problem with dropped MIDI assignment with Minimonsta in Live 6 and 7, but not Live 5 or with other hosts. Arturia and Ableton are aware of this, can replicate it, but have not fixed it yet. You might want to try the demo and wait before buying, although no-one else seems to be reporting this bug.

Minimonsta is by GForce, MinimoogV is by Arturia.

Yes, my mistake, I have G-Force Minimonsta. Apart from the bug I think it's a better synth than the MiniMoogV, although as a duplication of the original I can't comment.polyslax wrote:Minimonsta or MinimoogV?Macrostructure wrote:I have a problem with dropped MIDI assignment with Minimonsta in Live 6 and 7, but not Live 5 or with other hosts. this vid intrigued me

but this one worried me

it would be a real shame for ableton and minimonsta to not mix well together, the more I see about minimonsta the more incredible it seems as a creative tool, perfect emulation notwithstanding.

The thing about the 6K patches is that they are counting variations of patches.
Minimonsta uses a user-definable octave of keys to "morph" parameters within a patch. While I LOVE this synth, it is a little bit of over-the-top marketing because they claim that the morph from each key in the octave counts as another "patch", while really they are just variations on a single patch IMHO.
Anyway. Kick ass synth. Love it.
