Any abletonians in Perth, AU?

Post by Jeroen » Fri Mar 21, 2008 4:36 am

I am hoping (small change) for a job in Perth later this year.

Anyone out there? What's it like?

That' our 'home-town'
We grew up 400 meters from Scarborough Beach,
It's the most friendliest place in the western world IMHO, of course !
We miss it so much, especially when freezing one's balls off every winter here in Euroland, fuck 'dat, the sun is less intimidating than where you are, surely, only averaging 44°C in summer

Can't be that bad
Pendulum will be playing there, so will COSM

(We live in France now, but have lived in many, many cities and countries all around the Planet)

I played there two weeks ago. I only saw it for 2 hours of daylight and then had to fly back right after the gig to play another one in Melb... but what I saw it was very nice! haha. Lots more beach than I though there'd be.

I've never been to Perth but WA is very big and isolated and it's strange and frightening to me.

it's like the original explorers just got to the SA border and said "fuck this, the rest is just western Australia"

Image

all of that, with only 2 million people in it!!!!!!!!!

That's the fucking beauty of it all, you guys stay where you are and leave us alone, it makes Western Australians so fucking happy to hear that . . .
and remember, 1.6 million just in the capitol of Perth, leaving 0.4 million to the rest
isn't that great ? (going forward to retire there, btw)

Imagine when we go to Paris, it's the whole fucking population of Australia in the size of Sydney and it's suburbs, talk about scary for the first time , OMFG . . .
here in the Beajolias region , our nearest neighbour is 800 meters away, on the otherside of the hill, just birds and cows, reminds us of good ol' W.A.

It is scarily far from anything else, that's for sure. 30 hours flying my home town.

Apparently it is not as trendy as Sydney/Melbourne and the likes, but at least there is something happening wrt music apparently.

Here in Doha the best that happened was a live concert of the Scorpions in three years time (skipped that one) and oh yeah Brian Adams live.

Anyway, have to wait to see whether I have a chance for the job. I do not mind the emptiness.

J.

Yep sitting in the most isolated capital city in the world right now... Perth

Mate if I was you I would look for a job somewhere else, unless you're in mining and then come on over you'll love it.

I know, it's lovely and we are blessed with beautiful country side and fresh air and all of what you mentioned is amazing.

The music scene is like most smallish cities I guess, if you get stuck into it can be really rewarding.

We have one of the best radio stations in the country www.rtrfm.com.au

If you really want to know what Perth is like musically you only have to listen to this station (at the right times).

If you want to check out my show it's the Full Frequency show on Friday afternoon 3-5 Perth time of course.

I am not a professional in music. It's just something that i always liked, so Perth would be a choice for livestyle, not the trendiest clubs ... I am father of a young babygirl so that's sort of past ...

and you don't have to be a genious to guess what business I am in ... google Qatar and Perth and you will know.
