if we can do it with dummy clips we should be able to simply do it

it's a pain in the ass to midi map everything through the iac bus and use dummy clips

an extra overdub/back to session button perhaps

unlinking session automation loops :!:

I voted for automation in session.
and for a hardware interface to trigger clips like on the monodeck II.
and for a LFO device that can route it's output to any knob in Live.

but automation in session is the only thing that got me cursing recently...

I've always found this a frustrating omission.

yup this thread came about after i read the newsletter and took the survey.

I saw those three lines and thought

"hey, what if everybody said they want automation in session view on this survey"

I'm starting to think most don't want it :(

I think there is one more day for the survey..

+ vote for a very simple way to grab automations into clips without having to copy and paste every single one manually.

Something like consolidate that takes *everything* selected either in the track, or in clips, including automations and yields a clip containing the lot, including being able to auto-combine the end result of any automations that are in clips in the region (ie so it grabs the end result).

Hopefully someone is now going to tell Ive just not found the right key combo/menu tool etc and that actually this does exist????
Nothing to see here - move along!

Oh, and this has always been one of their top requests, but their response has been to say that it's too hard & try to distract us with a partial version of auto-mapping, etc...
