Where to start

Post by evanb » Wed Apr 23, 2008 2:16 pm

So I have been playing around with ableton but would love to see an example of how someone sets up a track and triggers the multiple clips and such. I have setup some scenes with clips but would love to see an example or be pointed somewhere which shows me how to setup a track

Well for one, when I play a synth vst I am not ure how to record it and save it as a clip. Also I guess I wanted to see how someones setup would look if they had multiple tracks setup say in a live mix. I would like to see their arrangement view and understand how they trigger the scenes

u have couple of options to get an audio clip from your midi vst synth

create a new audio track in live a route the midi tracks audio to the newly created audio track and you can record into a slot

you can also use the flatten command to turn a midi clip into an audio clip

check out the manual sections on routing for more detailed info

YouTube is packed full of Ableton tuts. Some really excellent stuff out there. They've been invaluable as I plow through my Live baby steps.
