Both are connected by USB. Problem is I cannot play both of them at the same time. I am not setting them up as automap control surfaces, just need both of them to send notes and cc's to Live.
My first idea was to use the MIDI out on one of them and USB on the other; that would certainly work, however I would rather use both with usb for the sake of not having to use a MIDI interface.
Is there any way to do this?

have you tried setting them to a different global midi channel each?

Yes, unfortunately this does not work. However I want them on the same channel (playing different notes/cc's) anyway so this would not be useful to me.

I also noticed that although both show up in the MIDI prefs setup, only one shows up in the track input menu.

Okay just solved it... Renamed one of them in Apple's Audio MIDI Setup, now Live hears both.
