yeah that's probably the clincher - I did my 20s in Sydney and London and had a blast, now I'm not that much into avvin it and would rather make music at home

I have been to some tragic nights here for sure, but I've also been to some pretty cool things...

I'm also into African drumming and things like that and can get an amazing natural high off that that definitely beats the nasty come-downs I used to have to deal with in my partying days! ;-) Some cool people here if you're into that kind of thing....

each to their own, I'm just giving my +1 for Bris-town as a lot of people slate it.

This is sooo true. Perth people are practically dead, but still somehow manage to breath occasionally.Usually when they have a bong in their hand.

(Some of my best friends are from Perth)
Sounds great, but is not perth actually more expensive for paying rent than brisbane?
Seeing as I'm living just outside of Melbourne in the hills, I have no idea...(shrugs)

I moved with my family to Geelong, an hour from Melbourne in 2008 and absolutely loved it. I have a sister in Perth and as nice as it was we felt it too isolated for us. Sadly health of a family back in the UK made us move back to the UK earlier this year.

What is the nicer part of Perth to live?
Ideally close to the beach, close to a nice area with cafes/bars etc, and close to a university

Fremanlte is a great spot.

It's got these covered-
Ideally close to the beach, close to a nice area with cafes/bars etc,
Not sure about this-

I lived in both. Perth is like a big, clean country town that's hot and sunny. Melbourne is bad in winter but with more business and culture going on.

Looks great, although a bit expensive for rent. Is 400$ to 500$ each week common
for one bedrom appartment in Perth area?

8O

I haven't been there for a while. I'd say it a direct result of the mining boom going on in WA. :x

Don't know where you got that figure from but you should find something for half that.
