Post by mellytek » Mon May 05, 2008 2:11 pm

hi there , i have recantly just sent my motu 828 mk2 usb back to the shop for full refund :) as have had nothing but nightmares with it , blue screen of death audio glitching and -500 ms latency , so am looking into getting a new card , need 8 outputs and 2 input min am running a dell inspiron 1501 it has no firewire but will be getting a pcmcia express card with firewire , have been thinking on the edirol 100 or the m-audio 410 is any one out there running this set up with same lappy , would be nice to hear or if any one can recomend some better cards that are under the 500 euro margin ;) cheers in advance

I've tried many, but for me, I only wish to buy once.... RME. Not the cheapest, but I have one now and it's so troublefree, I really have to think of the model number.

Save your money up for an RME card, you'll not regret it.

Kind Regards, Ken

been using the edirol ua-101 for YEARS with no problems. works best with the ASIO4ALL driver, down to ~4ms latency (in and out) at 192kHz. this is with an HP laptop, daily use.
