HI...

i just finished my first track and i would like to convert to mp3 so i can burn it on a cd.....can anyone give me any pointers? thank you for you time

I use CDEx with the lame.dll encoder, all free.

you can use itunes to do that pretty easy. Do you have itunes?

yes i have itunes....but how do i actually take it out of ableton and make into a wav or mp3

gotcha. are you in session or arrange view?

in arrange view, select the sound you want to export. doesn't matter what chanel your selecting you're just picking from what time to what time. So click and drag from left to right to from the begining of song to end.

Than click File, Export Audio/Video

Just hit ok, ok, and name the file.

That will create you a sparkling wav file of your tune.

it's a big different in the sessoion view...

there are a few other options to watch for, such as which track(s) to render, dithering, mono/stereo...

check the manual. it's REALLY simple, I just don't have it memorized.

if i want to export the entire track not just 1 midi clip or channel...how would i do that?

make sure nothing is muted or solo'd by accident.

in the render screen make sure it says 'Rendered Track: Master'
