[quote="mike@TrackTeam Audio"]yeah, Version 1...
you couldnt turn warp off...and there was only beats mode...
no sends/returns, those came in version 1.5
Actually, Live 1 did have Sends & Returns: it had 4 aux busses.
I originally chose to work with Live because the Session view duplicated the traditional mixer, aux effects, & source material paradigm, which is how I had been making music for years.
It was a drag that you couldn't turn off warping though.
In fact, it's still a drag that so many features are only available when a clip is warped...

Here are a couple of screenshots from a Live version 1 press release at Harmony Central dated October 31, 2001: Happy Halloween!nbinder wrote:Does anyone know a webpage with screenshots of every major version? If there's none... let's try to collect pictures... what do you think?
I would be very interested in seeing the progression of the user interface. Exciting!

These match the screenshots used in ads placed in magazines by retailers for Live version 1.

i have to boot into os 9 to use it, so i have no sound card capable to give 'er a run anymore
1 did have elastic audio, it was a great looping tool.. i used almost all hardware then, and only recorded with the computer.
v3 really started to hook me, and 4 got the gear unplugged!

@ djgroovy - yeah live 1 had autofilter and erosion.
@oblique - still remember that aux busses/sends/returns were introduced in version 1.5, but who knows....
For me the big feature was being able to instantly MIDI learn any parameter and VST parameter showing a whole new way to work w sounds and virtual effects. I looked at the program as a big sampler...
Other Great feature was the UI. It just looked so cool compared to all the hardware mimicking UIs at the time.

My first version was only the 5 lite.
