Portugal FTW!!!
I have my doubts we will actually win, but at least we are always one of the teams that play good football, ofensive, technical and stylish.
Germany and Italy are much more practical and rely on great physical strength, speed and practical football and counter-attacks - those tend to win more.

I'm sure they 'll invent some other sport they can champion in the meantime.

I think Croatia could win it. I hope Italy get shafted after the pathetic display they put on to beat us plucky Scots and put us out of the finals... THAT WAS NEVER A FREE KICK!!!

you're right it should have been a free kick the other way.

i still havent forgotten that joke of a penalty against australia at the last world cup.

i want croatia to do well, but they looked quite poor the other night.

Since I'm English, I'm going for those other perennial underachievers: Spain :D

Croatia is my favorite team but I'm afraid they had a really poor showing against Austria yesterday... hopefully, it was just opening round jitters against a team playing at home.

It's going to egt a lot more diffecult agaisnt Germany on Thursday. We'll see what happens...

I'm very much looking forward to seeing how Italy performs against Netherlands.

I have to say I was quite impressed with the Netherlands tonight. I think they
and Germany will be strong this year.

To the OP (Tone Deft): What the hell is this - are you an emigrated Brit, or are
you an American who's actually interested in European football? 8O

I'm a 35 year old American and grew up playing soccer, started at like 7 years old at soccer camps, the beautiful game is not unknown here at all. we invented the term 'soccer mom' FFS.

I catch whatever I can, I get Fox Soccer Network which shows the German league, South American leagues, European leagues, EPL, all that.

...and to those who say the US can't play futbol - the US women have won the World Cup TWO of the five times it's been played. suck eggs Eurotrash, learn the sport!
