anyone running live 7 on current imacs?

Post by dm » Wed Jun 11, 2008 6:27 am

i'm thinking about buying a new 20" imac for my studio, so was wondering if anyone else here has this setup. gonna keep my powerbook, but really need more power and screen size for studio work and running live7 (which is balls on my PB) and also running reaktor.
the specs look pretty sweet on the high end 20".

I just got a 2.8 ghz 24 inch and love it. I had to wait for the computer to upgrade to L7, so I have nothing to compare it to, but it runs much better than L6 did on my 1.33 ghz iBook.

IMO, I think you should go for the 24" like I did. You'll appreciate the 30% larger screen space.

i've got the 20" 2.4ghz one with 4 gig of ram and it's REALLY nice.
I used to have a G5 with dual 17" screens, and i don't miss any of that one bit. The 20" is a superb screen. I actually think the 24 is a bit OTT, the width is great, but it's just TOO tall for me. It's like sitting right in front of your old tv.
It's all a stunner running XP/games.

My wife just got the 20" and I too agree that it hits the sweet spot. I guess the 24" would be OK if you had to sit some distance away.
