I've just been standing there 10 minutes in my own world with headphones on playing the same chords and just rolling with the filter cutoff slider and ribbon controller.. 8O

I know a JP-8000's preset was used as the basis of the Faithless anthem, "god is a dj". Great tune.

What did it set you back if you don't mind me asking?

One of my faves! Enjoy!!! In my personal opinion, the JP8000, and JP 8080 were the last 2 great synths roland put out. I love the bass you can make with the JP8K.

yeah i like some of the basses. I tend to enjoy basses that aren't as thick as many likes, leaves room for lots of other stuff. Just created something pretty with an attack but then left quite bottom-rounded. I'll get on with the squares later perhaps that makes some other sounds. Lovely :)

To thelike5:

I found a preset named OB eight. That one, its basically just a supersaw (i love supersaws) pad and when you smack the ribbon controller around it goes from like thin to ultra fat. If you put the tone control treble up and then adjust the filters (smack resonance to around 75-80% up) you just get this sound that just. Its airy and almost screamy.

I just stood playing a very classic melody: ACE ACE GBD FAC FAC FAC GBD ACE
hold the first FAC for like 4x, you probably know it. I don't know the track name where i got it from, i just always end up playing that somehow.

And then afterwards playing with the feedback oscillator and its two controls :) and then i found some stab sound and made it a bit bigger.

But i spent 10 minutes alone on that supersaw, then moved on a bit hehe

Using the ribbon controller to morph between some pretty soft/cheesy sounds moving it into extreme fuzz, sharp and airy sounds. While playing!
