Is this mixer $3,000 or $4,000? :D

Whatever Allen & Heath... I'm personally sick of companies that "debut" devices liek the 1D or 2D that never see the light of day. They seriosuly announced those smaller, affordable mixers/controllers two years ago.

Neither has made it to the shops yet...

regarding the 4d: unless you're some superstar that's going to be able to request one or travel with your own, who cares. you have one at home... then you go to a venue with your midi controller. and they have a pioneer. that you use 1 channel of. trick bit of kit but i can think of LOTS of other things to spend that kind of $ on.

agreed. it would be nice if this was THE mixer, but everywhere you go its pioneer for the most part... not midi / audio mixers.

you can pre listen your mp3 on both, the left and the right channel.
you can adjust the led brightness and you can midimap both of them
(for external brightness control).

Is that what all the big deal is about ?

What are the jog wheels good for ?

Do they work well for browsing and using scenes in session mode ?

someone must put this picture into their signature.

quoting large images is fun but becomes hilarious when they're also fuzzy

the jog wheels are just like relative knobs, they do accelerate depending on how fast you spin the wheel.

They work great for the chain selector in a rack full of FX. each jog wheel also has four push buttons on each side of the wheel.

if you assign the wheel to the fine tempo selector it works well. then you can assign the push/pull to two of the buttons on the wheel.

i hate pics you have to scroll to see. things about the 4d is if you have the $$ and the need and the knowhow about playing your music, you would probably be better investing (time and money) in a lemur. also, it's USB, im on a FW soundcard, so theres no point in going backwards. plus it's huge.
