for me its useless. what does it have six buttons? I bought this http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MPK49 it doesnt have a tradiontional cross fader but if I ever need one(not likely) ill use the sliders as a vertical crossfader.
yeah nothing. i havent used mine yet to good effect

Thanks guys for this feedback. I have gone through the enthusiastic posts preceding the appearance of the controller on the market, "get the hands on", "join the pre-sale front", among them quite a few boosters by new members, and got carried away, too.
But according to N's manual Ableton Live does not support Automap Universal Mixer Control.
This itself is an eye opener to me (after all Nocturn was officially demonstrated on Live). If the problem is on the part of Live there is a risk ALv8 might be the first one to support it some day.
Or has it changed yet?
I found at kvr:
"Automap template gives you instant control of track faders, track mute, auxilary sends, track arm and pan, as well as transport, just on the right of the control panel. At the same time the left hand control panel auto-assigns the controls of whichever synth/fx you select with the mouse(and can be locked), as well as offering controls for scene select/launch and all clips stop. You also get 8 drum pads and an X/Y pad."

I use it for VST automation AND tweaking so how do I use the poll?
I made instant mappings for the Nocturn (do a search for my user name) although Ableton instant mappings are a bit shitty, you get to tweak some parameters but not all what good is that?
If you want to use a controller for mixing, you should really get something like a BCF nothing like setting levels with faders, you can do it with a mouse or knobs, but it's not very good.

I actually like it for everything. I typically use at remote SL at home but when I'm on the go I use the nocturn for pretty much everything. Once you set up the MIDI CC the way you want for Live's controls and set up your plugins with the automap controls you like (dont forget to save as default) its a pretty fucking sweet little controller.
