doesn't matter how well you take care of yourself, if your numbers up.djadonis206 wrote:Uh oh - sad

Makes you really want to start taking better care of yourself.
I've lost a lot of my healthiest friends at young ages due to out of control shit.
Meanwhile the unhealthy weirdos live on.
Funny but many people seem to assume they will live to 80,
but my experience is that bits start falling off way before that. Trucks crash into you, weird diseases put you in a coma, important body parts just give up unexpectedly. There's a modern myth that being a gym freak will save you, but try telling a truck, or necrotising fascitis that.
When your number's up, your numbers up.

Bad things happen to all kinds of people, but black men especially really need to (including myself) start paying more attention to their salt intake, heart conditions, hypertension etc

A new national "atlas" of heart disease deaths out Wednesday confirms that a man's risk of dying from the disease depends in large part on his race and where he lives.
Called "Men and Heart Disease: An Atlas of Racial and Ethnic Disparities among Men with Heart Disease," the research shows that black men older than 35 are 26% more likely to die of heart disease than white men and nearly twice as likely to die of heart disease as Hispanic men.
Death rates were highest for men in the rural South, particularly Appalachia and the Mississippi Delta, and lowest for those in Hawaii, Utah and Colorado.
The differences reflect factors other than the durability of men's hearts, doctors say. "We don't think these racial or ethnic disparities are due to genetics or inborn differences. We see them reflecting defects in our society," says lead author Elizabeth Barnett of West Virginia University, who collaborated with researchers at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta.
Actually heart disease is the # 1 killer of all blacks in America
