No latency here, though I don't have it with Beat Maker either. I almost always record in real time with both.

I posted this in another thread, but it might be interesting to some who missed it:
There's a post over at Create Digital Music about iDrum:

Comments by Art Gillespie of iZotope indicate that a soon-to-be-released iDrum update will enable "full round-trip editing of beats–including sending samples back and forth–with iDrum (desktop) for Windows/Mac"
Still no update yet, though...

so after you've created your beats on the subway can you export them and copy them over to a workstation for use in a track?
I can't wait til' some software is released to make the iPhone a MIDI controller using the Accelerometer & touchscreen.
Have you guys see this?

desktop idrum is $60, though, and not a very effective rhythm programming tool, for my purposes.rjbourc wrote:I posted this in another thread, but it might be interesting to some who missed it:

the + about beatmaker is that you can import/export for free - too bad idrum won't follow suit.
..... . . . . . . . . .
Been playing with it a bit more. The latency (on my 3G iPhone) is noticeable, but a bit better than Beatmaker.
It's serious fun to use, and might have potential for live use, ala changing patterns while the beat continues to play, soloing parts etc.
I would love a few more features but I'm just being greedy.

The latency on my iPod Touch seems minimal, but I mostly just like programming the step sequencer, anyway.
I happen to be a fan of the desktop iDrum app. If they ever let me load kits from my desktop to my portable iDrum, I will be one seriously happy customer.
And the interface is simply brilliant. Well done, iZotope!
